From now until February 6th, it’s battle of the businesses – small businesses, anyway. The American Small Business Championship is underway and when it’s over, 102 small businesses will have won a year’s worth of training from SCORE, a $1,000 Sam’s Club Gift Card, publicity and more.

As part of a collaboration between SCORE, a small business dedicated nonprofit, and Sam’s Club Giving Program, The American Small Business Championship is about rewarding small businesses for the sacrifices they make in order to make their business successful. As any small business owner knows, it often takes everything you’ve got and more to start and grow a small business. But it’s because of the small businesses owners’ sacrifices that small businesses employ half the workforce and create 60 percent of net new American jobs.

What sacrifice have you made to help your business succeed?

If you can answer that question in either a 30-60 second video clip or with a photo and 250 words or less, then you can enter the American Small Business Championship. SCORE and Sam’s Club invite you to share your story with the country and earn their votes. A minimum of 100 votes will get you to the judging round, but the more votes you earn, the better your overall score. The Championship is open to small businesses in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The prize? “Two champion businesses from each state and the District of Columbia will win a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, expense-paid attendance at a regional Championship Celebration and Symposium, SCORE mentoring for one year, and significant national publicity.”

Enter the championship by submitting your story on the official website, and read how a previous championship winner grew their business and their success.
