Joining us for our third Small Business Saturday podcast is Rieva Lesonsky, CEO, President, and founder of GrowBiz Media, who also contributes to SmallBizDaily.com and Smallbiztrends.com. Formerly the Editorial Director of Entrepreneur Magazine, she’s been helping small business owners in multiple capacities for over 30 years! Rieva sat down with us to share some of her insights on both in-store and online holiday sales.
Highlights from Rieva’s Interview
You know the drill by now; we won’t give them all away, but here are 3 of the 5 great tips from Rieva’s interview:
- Remember that this holiday season is short! Thanksgiving falls late on the calendar this year, shortening the holiday shopping season. Be sure to plan ahead and make the most of every minute!
- Free shipping is important: Online shoppers resent paying for shipping, especially when so many retailers eliminate shipping costs for the holidays. To stay competitive, consider how you can offer free shipping.
- Consider extended hours: It can be worth it to open earlier and stay open later during the holiday season: busy professionals often only have time to shop before or after normal office hours. You want to make it as convenient as possible for shoppers.
Take a few minutes to listen for some great tips to boost both online and in-store sales this holiday season!
November 30th is almost here! Make sure to return to our blog as we’ll be posting more interviews with business experts over the next few days leading up to Small Business Saturday!
