On Saturday, April 28th, 2012 the Dun and Bradstreet Credibility Corp. office in Greensboro, North Carolina made their 4th annual appearance at the March of Dimes 5k walk.

March of Dimes is an organization that aims to help mothers have full term pregnancies and healthy babies. Not only is March of Dimes interested in aiding pre-term babies, but it also researches various health issues specific to children. The organization researches problems that often threaten babies and then informs families about these problems and provides parents with solutions.

Recently, March of Dimes launched a Prematurity Campaign which focuses on helping families have full-term pregnancies. The reason why the March of Dimes tries to stop babies from being born prematurely is because premature babies often have a higher risk of medical complications and sometimes need to spend time in intensive care before they can go home.

In 2011, March of Dimes formed a “Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait” initiative that focuses on stopping preventable preterm births. This specific initiative aims to educate women with healthy pregnancies on the importance of waiting at least 39 weeks before giving birth.

Strollers, leashes, and children in hand, the Dun and Bradstreet Credibility Corp. team brought their families, friends and pets to join in the 5k walk to help raise money.  They endured the cold and rain together to raise almost $1,800 for the foundation. The entire Greensboro March of Dimes Chapter set their goal at $208,000 which they proudly surpassed at a solid $260,000. This year, March of Dimes expects seven million people to join in their efforts in 900 communities across America.
