– President Abraham Lincoln, January 27, 1838 Lyceum Address
“For centuries, America’s progress has been driven by pioneers who think big, take risks, and work hard. Where their ideas take root, we find inventions that can change the way we live. And when their businesses take off, they fuel an engine of economic growth and job creation that moves America forward.”
– President Barack Obama, May 21, 2012 National Small Business Week
When one steps off the plane in Washington, D.C., no matter where you’re from, you can’t help but feel Presidential behests seal the surroundings. The proud fabric of freedom still rests as the rock of our country’s basis and it’s more salient in D.C. – these are the facts.
It’s even more impressive this week as we join the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s, America’s Small Business Summit. Kicking of National Small Business Week, the Chamber is hosting a powerful line-up of speakers and uniting small business owners and entrepreneurs from all over the country.
This morning has been no mere step and repeat. Each smile, shake and exchange of a card packs a punch behind it. As Lincoln would preface, in the great journal of things happening under the sun, this is a week to remember.
